Mission: To serve every Mandarin speaking student in the Greater Victoria area.
I joined the Chinese Students and Scholars Association as a member when I was in my first year. At that time, the association only had 12 staffs, including 2 presidents, 4 directors, and 6 executives. However, they were passionate and responsible individuals. They organized events to help Mandarin speaking students to overcome cross-cultural differences quicker and easier.

Executive (Sept 2012-Apr 2013)
I applied to become an executive in the Department of Student Services in 2012. The association expanded to 30 staffs. My main responsibility was to organize information seminars for students on various topics, such as banking, health care, course selections, etc. |
Head of Academic (May 2013-Mar 2014)
I became the Head of Academic in 2013. My department was in charge of organizing events that would benefit the students' daily life, such as social networking night, new student orientation, and information seminars. I was also the chief editor of our student handbook. I developed my leadership and teamwork skills by staying closely with my team members and my co-workers. |
Secretary/Finance Director (May 2014-Mar 2015)
I was elected to be the secretary and finance director of the association in 2014. My main job was to recruit new executives for the association as well as keeping track of our expenses and incomes. I was able to use the knowledge that I learned in class to make contributions to the association. |
